It was great to give Ruby 2.0 a good run around Phillip Island on the weekend. I had a great weekend and am pretty happy with how my over all performance went!
Friday’s practice’s I finished up 5th in both sessions and the car felt great! It was great to cut some laps before Saturday – which was an unreal day and of course was my 22nd birthday. A huge thanks to the Wall Racing crew for making my day extra special and also to the guys and girls at Michelin Porsche GT3 Cup Australia for making me an amazing cake!
We qualified P6 ahead of Race 1 on Saturday and after the crew made a few changes to the car, we managed to grab 3rd place, which I was absolutely ecstatic with. An awesome birthday present!
Sunday’s Race 2 I didn’t get a very good start and unfortunately dropped from P3 to 15th – which wasn’t ideal. As the race went on, I managed to make up a few spots and brought home my #38 Porsche GT3 Cup in 8th.
After starting Race 3 in P8, I had a fantastic race and managed to claw my way through the field into 5th position, which is where I finished up. I did give myself a little bit of a scare though when I pushed to hard with one lap to go and kissed the gravel, whoops! Lucky I managed to hold it together and maintain 5th.
A huge thanks to Wall Racing for giving me an incredible car all weekend, especially after their big rebuild of Ruby 2.0! I can’t thank them enough!
Also, a huge thanks to all my sponsors and fans – without you all I wouldn’t be where I am, so thank you.
I’m currently sitting 5th in the Championship points and I can’t wait to get to Queensland Raceway for the fourth round of the Michelin Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Australia, July 27 – 29.
