Chelsea Angelo – The Bend Motorsport Park Wrap Up

Well it was another mixed weekend for round 3 of the TCR Australia round. South Australia sure threw some crazy weather at us, which made it difficult to get a clear lap in.

Friday’s practice sessions were all about playing with different set up options, which is what we did. The rain made it difficult to get a dry lap in; so it was a little challenging adapting to the car in the wet, although everyone was the same up and down pitlane.

Saturday was a tough day; qualifying was half wet and dry, so it was tricky to decide whether to run wet or slicks. We stuck to wets and only managed to salvage 17^th. Race 1 we had another car collide into us, which caused steering issues and we were forced to retire, ending the day with a DNF. A big thanks to the crew for fixing the car overnight and getting it ready for the next day!

We got a really great start for race 2 on Sunday and managed to pick up a few spots and finished up P12. With back-to-back races, we didn’t have much time to make many changes to the car and were straight back into it for the final race of the weekend.

Unfortunately, on-going issues with the car misfiring from race 2 continued into race 3 and with little time for the crew to fix the issues, we were forced to end our race early and come into the pits.

A big thanks to the Kelly Racing crew for all their efforts and hard work over the weekend.

A real shame we couldn’t come away with better results, but I’m staying positive and hopeful we can have a better weekend at Queensland Raceway 2-4 August.
