Porsche Michelin GT3 Challenge Cup driver, Chelsea Angelo, has today announced she will be joining Ranger Racing Australia, to pilot a second entry for the team.
Angelo will exchange her PAYCE/Wilson Security Porsche to a Ford Ranger for the last three rounds including, Bathurst 1000 (October 4-7), Gold Coast (October 19-21) and Newcastle (November 23-25).
“This is an amazing opportunity which I thank Michael Formosa (Team Owner) for,” said Angelo.
“Right now I’m working closely with Wall Racing to finish our Porsche Michelin GT3 Cup Challenge season strongly, however that season finishes on September 23 – so this opportunity gives me a chance to continue racing until the end of the year.”
Established in 2017, Ranger Racing Australia was launched to represent one of Australia’s best selling vehicles – the Ford Ranger.
Designed and engineered by the legendary Ross Stone, the racing version of the Ford Ranger was engineered over a period of months to ensure it could be competitive from the launch of the season.
Backed by passionate Sydney businessman Michael Formosa, and raced by son Chris Formosa, the Ranger Racing Super Ute is already a crowd favourite, showcasing the popularity of the vehicle, as well as providing proud owners a way of expressing their passion for their Ranger.
Michael Formosa is particularly excited about seeing Angelo in a second racing Ranger.
“I’m really keen to make SuperUtes exciting to watch, and having Chelsea in the car, brings an element of interest to Bathurst. Having a second Ranger is a milestone for our team too – we’re really looking forward to this.”
