Well it was a bit of a mixed weekend at Winton! Practice started off promising, where we ended up P3 and P5 in wet and tricky conditions. We then qualified 7th ahead of Race 1, where it started to take a bit of a turn when the car in front of me didn’t take off. Unfortunately, it left no room and I clipped the right front, which damaged the steering, forcing us to retire. It was a bit of an unlucky way to end the endurance races, but that’s racing!
The crew at Wall Racing did an awesome job and managed to get Ruby 2.0 back out ready for Sunday! Race 2, I started right at the back of the pack, however I passed a heap of cars and managed to finish up in 6th.
I finished up P5 for Sunday’s final race, but had a few good battles along the way and was so close to 4th!
Thankfully I’m still 5th in the Championship standings, -92 points behind 4th position and with only one round to go, I’ll be chasing hard!
A massive thank you to the crew at Wall Racing for doing an amazing job, preparing my car not only all weekend, but in the lead up as well! A big thank you to all my sponsors – I wouldn’t be here without you all.
Next stop, Sydney September 21-22!
Until then, it’s back to training and work for me!
